Position Summary:
Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines are met for invoicing, revenue recognition, and reconciliations. Work with order processing, credit collections, and sales to coordinate processes to ensure all orders received meet revenue recognition guidelines and are compliant with US GAAP and SEC regulations. Work with Sarbanes Oxley and corporate auditors to ensure all audit requirements are met.

This position is expected to challenge existing processes and procedures to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:
Ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal processes
Able to articulate underlying accounting guidance and impact on financial reporting for areas of responsibility
Participate in quarterly audits with F5’s external auditors
Maintain SOX documentation and work with F5 internal auditors to complete testing each fiscal year.
Ensure that the AR team enforces rules set by affected parties as well as ensuring that all authorization policies are followed
Challenge existing processes and procedures for efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.
Daily / weekly tasks
Responsible for managing the activities of the staff invoicing, issuing credit / debit memos, establishing reserves, etc.; including Oracle responsibilities for the AR subledger
Manage day-to-day operations of the AR department; create, implement and maintain policies, procedures and controls,
Develop functional expertise and general understanding of the responsibilities of AR
Conduct adequate training to all staff to ensure F5 revenue recognition policy and AR requirements are met
Responsible for coordinating the response to inquiries from other departments regarding revenue and deferred revenue
Drive continual improvement of processes, methods and standards
Monthly / quarterly responsibility
Maintain the integrity of the reconciliations and account balances of AR, deferred revenue, and revenue
Ensure all Revenue processes and reports are completed and deadlines are met to allow timely close of AR and Revenue.
Coordinate staff and processes for AR to ensure monthly and quarterly company goals are met
Management Responsibility
Management of exempt and/or nonexempt level staff. This includes but is not limited to, establishing goals, assigning or delegating work, providing on-the-job training, giving guidance to staff, conducting performance evaluations, approving paid time-off (PTO), developing performance improvement plans, taking disciplinary action, and interviewing candidates for open positions.
Other Responsibilities:
Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
